Born in Blumenau (Brazil), Marcelo began his career working as illustrator for newspapers, advertising agencies, animation studios, children book publishers, but his vocation has always been focused -since his childhood- on comics.

Even in his early years at school, he demonstrated special skills for drawing, illustrating schoolwork for teachers and classmates.

As a professional, he worked on the title Lady Death (Avatar Press) during three years. He also drew on-shot editions of Ghostbusters (IDW), and Aliens (Dark Horse); and different titles for Zenescope and Evoluzione, among others.
